The capacities and connection of five capacitors are shown in the adjoining figure. The potential difference between the points A and B is 60 volts . Then the equivalent capacity between A and B and the charge on $5 \mu F$ capacitance will be respectively

Text Solution
Verified by ExpertsThe correct answer is:
D
The given circuit can be redrawn ass follows

Equivalent capacitance of the circuit $C_{AB} = 4 \mu F$
Charge given by the battery $Q = C_{eq} V = 4 \times 60 = 240 \mu C$
Charge in 5 μ μ F capacitor $Q' = \frac{5}{(10 + 5 + 9)} \times 240 = 50 \mu C$
